Who will finish your AI-built website? What usually needs fixing before launch

A website built with AI is usually 70-80% done: it looks good, has copy and a layout, but it lacks what you do not see in the preview. Most often that is a working contact form, real content instead of samples, basic SEO, a privacy policy and a permanent place for the site to run. You can finish it yourself, with help from the same AI tool, or hand it to someone who knows how to publish websites. The choice mainly depends on whether the site only has to look good, or also collect enquiries and data.

Below I have gathered what most often remains to be done in these projects and how to brief the work so the quote is reliable.

Why is an AI website “almost ready”?

Tools such as Lovable, Bolt, v0 or a plain chat with ChatGPT or Claude are great at what you can see: layout, colours, sections, first drafts of the copy. They are weaker at what happens outside the preview – the server, the domain, sending messages, legal requirements and Google.

There is also a pattern familiar to anyone who has built something with AI: the first 80% goes very fast, and every further fix goes slower. Another request to the chat can fix one thing and break another, because the model does not always keep the whole project in mind.

What usually needs finishing?

  • The contact form. It looks right, but the message goes nowhere, because there is no script to send it.
  • Placeholder content. Sample reviews, numbers, stock photos and contact details that have to be replaced with real ones.
  • The mobile version. It looks fine in the preview but can break on a real phone with longer texts.
  • SEO. One generic page title, no descriptions, no sitemap. With some tools the content only loads in the browser, which makes it harder for Google to read.
  • Privacy policy and cookies, if the site collects data or uses analytics.
  • Publishing on a domain. Hosting, DNS records and an SSL certificate.
  • Security in more complex projects. If the site has logins or a database, you need to check that user data is only available to the people it should be.

A detailed list of what to check for Google is in the SEO checklist for AI-generated websites.

Who can finish it?

You, with AI. For a simple landing page this is realistic. You will need some patience with hosting and DNS, though, and the form will still have to be connected with something outside the chat. How to publish an HTML file is described in where to host a ChatGPT website.

Someone who publishes and maintains websites. This makes sense when the site has to collect enquiries, run with ads, or when you do not want to spend time on the technical side. They do not have to rewrite the project from scratch, just finish what is missing.

An application developer. Needed only when the project is effectively an application: logins, payments, a client panel, integrations. Then finishing it can be more work than generating it was.

Finish it or move it to WordPress?

If the site is a simple landing page you will rarely change, it usually pays to finish it and publish it as a static site. It is fast and cheap to run.

If you want to edit the content yourself, run a blog or expand the site, it is better to treat the AI project as a template and rebuild it in WordPress. Further changes are then made in the admin panel, not through more requests to a chat. I compare the options in more detail in Lovable, v0, Bolt or WordPress.

How to brief the job

The more specifics, the more accurate the quote. Prepare:

  • a preview link or the project files (code export, HTML file),
  • the name of the tool the site was built in,
  • a list of pages and forms that need to work,
  • information about your domain and hosting – whether you have them and where,
  • what should happen to form messages – which address they should go to,
  • whether you want to edit the content yourself later.

How much does finishing an AI website cost?

It depends on how much is missing. I deploy a simple landing page with no extra coding starting at PLN 300. That covers publishing the site on your domain and connecting a working form, and I set up the SSL certificate if your hosting offers a free one or you have your own. Basic SEO is quoted separately. Every additional page, form or feature that needs custom code raises the cost, and moving the project to WordPress is quoted after I see it. The details are on the AI website deployment page. FAQ

Can an AI-built website be published without changes?

Sometimes, if it is a simple landing page without a form. Usually, though, you need to replace placeholder content, connect the form, and add basic SEO and a privacy policy before the site reaches customers.

Who can finish a website from Lovable, Bolt or v0?

For a simple landing page – you with the help of AI, or someone who publishes and maintains websites. If the project has logins, payments or a database, you need a developer who will also check data security.

Does finishing an AI website mean rewriting it?

No. Usually the look and layout stay, and the work consists of adding what is missing: the form, content, SEO and publishing on a domain. Rebuilding from scratch makes sense only when moving to WordPress or for complex applications.

What should I prepare to get a quote?

A preview link or the project files, the name of the tool, a list of pages and forms, information about your domain and hosting, and the address where messages should be delivered.

How much does it cost to finish an AI-built website?

With me, a simple landing page with no extra coding starts at PLN 300. More pages, forms or features that need coding raise the cost, and I give you an exact figure after seeing the project.
