When a spreadsheet is no longer enough
Several people edit the same file, someone overwrites data, nobody knows which version is current, and the monthly report takes a whole day. That is usually the point where a simple app with user accounts pays for itself faster than you would expect. Everyone sees what they should, data lives in one place and reports generate themselves.
What I can build
- Order management system – intake, statuses, customer history, export to invoicing.
- Custom CRM for small business – only the fields you use, with no per-user subscription.
- Service ticket system – request, technician assignment, deadline, report.
- Booking system – appointments, rooms, equipment, staff schedules.
- Client portal – where customers check status, download documents and place orders.
- MVP development – the first version of your idea, tested with real users before you invest more.
Off-the-shelf tool or custom app?
If there is a ready-made tool that fits most of your work, I will probably recommend it, because it will be cheaper. A custom app makes sense when you pay for several subscriptions at once, the existing tool forces awkward workarounds, or your process is specific enough that nothing handles it well.
Hire a Polish developer directly
Many companies hire developers in Poland for a good balance of quality and cost. Working with me, you get that without a software development company in between: you talk directly to the person who writes the code, in English, and pay for development rather than account management. I work remotely in the Central European time zone, which overlaps well with the UK, the rest of Europe and the US East Coast mornings.
Tech stack
I build the backend and admin panel in Python and Django, with an API for mobile apps or other systems. The interface works in the browser and on mobile, also as a PWA that can be added to the home screen without an app store. I connect apps with payments, email marketing and invoicing, and host them on servers in the EU.
How much does a custom web app cost?
- User accounts and basic roles
- One core process, e.g. orders or tickets
- Deployment and a short user guide
- Payments, invoicing and email integrations
- Client portal or API for a mobile app
- Work split into stages
- Updates, backups, monitoring
- New features as you need them
- Quick response when something goes wrong
Every project is quoted after a call. Larger ones are split into stages so you can start using the first version as soon as possible.
How we work together
- Free call – you tell me how your work looks today and what takes the most time.
- Scope and quote – you get a description of the first version, a timeline and a price.
- Build in stages – I show progress every few days and you can try a working test version.
- Launch and growth – I launch the app, hand over a guide and keep developing it if you need.
Frequently asked questions
Will the app work on mobile?
Yes. It runs in the mobile browser and, as a PWA, can be added to the home screen like a regular app. A Google Play version is possible as a separate stage.
Do I own the code and data?
Yes. You get the full code in a repository and access to the server, and the data belongs to you.
What if we stop working together?
I hand over the code, documentation and access, so another developer can take over without guesswork.
How long does MVP development take?
Usually around 4-8 weeks, depending on scope. You will get a more precise timeline with the quote.
Why hire a Polish developer instead of an agency?
You get direct contact with the developer, lower overhead and EU-based data handling. For small and mid-sized projects this is usually faster and cheaper than a software house.
Can I start small?
Yes, and that is usually the best start. A small version quickly shows what is really needed and what can wait.
Does it have to be a separate app rather than WordPress?
Not always. If your needs fit in WordPress, a custom plugin or integration will be cheaper. I will tell you which makes sense.
